Kindness Eats Cleverness for Breakfast

In this RSA Short, British producer John Lloyd ponders which is more important—brains or heart?

Despite all the advances we’ve made in science, there is much we still don’t understand—from what consciousness is, to how gravity works, to why things are funny…

But among all the mystery, Lloyd believes one thing to be certain. Whereas the value of intelligence depends on what you do with it, kindness is worthwhile in all circumstances. “Being nice to people matters,” he concludes.

Or, in the words of the Dalai Lama:

No need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple. The philosophy is kindness.
